OK, it's been awhile but I have seen a similar tool like the one on the left in a Shoe Cobbler/Saddle Maker's Shop - - - so I'm going with leather working tools also.

Cool thread, it's been awhile since we had one of these.thumbsup.gif

hahaha, kinda makes you wonder don't it???

No HI-JACK intended here but this is the "IDEAL" place for this!

There is an old Movie starring Anthony Quinn called "The Savage Innocents".  It is about the Eskimos back in the ?30s ?40s maybe?  In this movie he portrays a "illiterate Eskimo" with a wife and one of their Mothers living in the Igloo.   One of the scenes in the Movie is when the Grandma "old woman" has chewed so many hides, tenderizing them for blankets and clothing that her teeth are all gone so they make her go out into the frozen lake and wait for a Polar Bear to come along and finish her off.  Their are many "Shocking" scenes in the Movie and I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't seen it so I will stop right here.  I highly recommend the flick and sorry for the detour.
