Mrs. Geezer69's New House

Here is a picture of my new house geezer is building for me.  He hasn't aloud anyone to help with the project, he wants to do it totally by himself, just like the nova. Everyone I know likes my choice of colors because it is different. I have pictures from beginning to current state. -geezer69's wife

I like that! It's a very original design...but in a good way. It's got a little bit of "castle" with a little bit of "southern mansion" and a little bit of "sprawling rancher" and it works from what I see.

Still working on the outside.  Materials stored inside, no work done inside yet. We have pictures of the framing.
Just a little note....decks off the third floor will cover the bottom floors. The back of the decks will be covered and the front half left over for sun. There is also a balcony off the front of the second floor.  Just a work in progress.

WOW, Geezer! I've only recently had a chance to look around here with our new faster internet. I'm amazed! What an incredible design! Did you do THAT too? Thats one of the most complicated designs I've seen. Have you moved in yet? Got pics of the interior? All I can do is goofy little projects. You have my humble respect.

Yeah! I had no idea that the amazing lookin' house on the homepage actually belonged to a member! Would a person refer to it as "Cape Cod"-ish? Or maybe "Cape Geeze"-ish? Cool. Its stimulating to see others "pushing the envelope". I love turrets, and I've been wanting to rescue a silo to repurpose as a turret/ hottub enclosure on our house. Just haven't found one yet that I felt I could move. I would rather have a real one, but I may have to build. People tear 'em down all the time, I just haven't been at the right place/right time...(with the right gear) Yes. Please submit more pics, when you get somethin' done.

that silo could be used for a lot of things.good idea!i love the view we get from the upper floors.we're bout 30 mi.north of dallas the way the crow flies.we look across the lake plum past 1-30 and then some.that little top floor is for just lookin around.i had to have it.its also a good marker at nite for the boaters.you should see the fire works on the 4th from upper floors. we can see all the little towns around they all put on quite a show.theres a couple old poots that have a fishin hole baited in the cove nearest our house.i got a telescope and watch then old buzzards pull in the fish.they never stay long but they go a lot.i dont go to their spot or tell anyone about it but its a good one! we have a friend in oklahoma who is tryin to buy a place with a huge silo on it.he wants me to help him turn it into a multi story house.ive seen it,it would be real easy to do and not too costly.of course id get some help with it.im gettin too old for this solo crap.i like your projects neighbor. keep em comin!

Hey Mego, the missus and I were noticing a nice place on the Lake Conroe waterfront not too far from us and it was build with the same type of architecture that your digs is, with the rounded light house type areas along with the standard height areas.

Do you have any idea what that particular style of construction is called?

Seems like it should be patterned from something in the New England Coast or the likes???

How's T.J. doin?

that reminds me, I need to get you a pic of that house on the Lake that I was telling you about - - - as far as handicap friendly goes? my thoughts would be only if "YALL" need it but as for resale, it would make it more expensive and create less potential buyers - - - - my opinion only tho!

OK, even an old blind hawg finds an acorn now and then and this OBH finally remembered to drive over to the bridge and snap a couple of pics of that house I've been promising to post here. Excuse the quality but it's a cloudy day and the house is across the lake from the middle of the bridge where I could snap the pic. Couldn't take too much tie because I didn't need a ticket for illegal parking. Hope these work for y'all.
