diddnt know were to post this one. i need to know how to get a oppossum to stop nesting under my house. i already set traps but hes a sneaky fucr, any help would be great,...thanks
Is that a grey thing with a tail like a rat, only bigger....longish nose?....apparently they have migrated north in the last few years from what I have heard..I had one of those under my shed all winter, came out to raid the bird feeder droppings. It seems to be gone now, I was building my woodshop in the shed earlier this spring and I guess the noise scared him away.
ya big big rat , scary lookn . pretty popular things down here in south texas i guess but it is bringing fleas in my yard and in turn my house . i gotta get rid of it.
Like I said, the noise seemed to scare mine away....You need to party more, man.....LOL
Are you allowed to shoot it......I don't think I would want to poison it, it may died under there....that would stink......Or a dog/cat may get the poison.......
Get a dog to flush it out.......all you Texas guys have big dogs, don't ya?....LOL
hey man i party trust me, and i got a dog that will bite the **** out of any intruder but she dont like that oppussmn at all . this thing is scary, i think im gonna have to sit out with the 357 and a glass of jack.........

I think I'd use a pellet rifle or a .22. The .357 leaves too big a hole when you miss - especially after a Jack or two

we got them here in north texas.use a live trap.tie a can of sardines down to the floor he wont be able to pass it up.then you can just haul him off.way off.geezer69 live and let live
some of the old folks where i was born.signal mt. tenn.actualy ate possom and sweet taters.i remember it.dont ever try it.there nasty.one of our cows died.when we found it several possoms ran out of the carcus.theyll eat anything.i wouldnt even touch one.
Porcupine is a widespread "varmint" here. They will wreck large stands of wood in short time if not attended to. I have been told that if you get one that's been in a hardwood stand it will taste pretty darn good. Texture like a good roast of pork apparantly. If you get one that's been in softwood it will taste "sprucey". Same deal as partridge I guess. I've never hunted in my life, not my thing, but I've liked any game meat I've tried and given opportunity...I'd try the porcupine.
We don't have possom or oppossom here, but I've heard of "possom stew"...if it didn't crawl out of a carcass I'd likely try that too.
trust me , you do not want to eat this thing . the city came and picked him up. i thought he looked a liitle wierd when i caght him. so the city guy comes and tells me the thing has probably got rabies. i would eat porkypine way before touching one of these
Possums are common around here. Dogs and cats are generally afraid of them. If you'd looked closely at his claws and teeth you'd understand why. lol Nasty tempered things when cornered. They hiss like a cat and they will attack if given no other option.
We have a running battle to keep them from stealing feed at both the house and the barn. Dry cat and dog food really seem to attract them but they are nocturnal so if you take in the food at night they will generally leave on their own.
I hate to admit it but I've eaten possum. A friend replaced the chicken in a stew with the nasty thing and didn't tell me until after I'd eaten it. I honestly couldn't tell the difference but I promptly threw up anyway just at the thought.
