What I need is a BIG bandaid

Can't believe I'm the first flooring post - - - LOL

OK, Gang, as I have said before, we are plannin on selling this house and moving closer to our kiddos in the near future so what I need is a quick nice looking fix for a splice job that the previous owners did.

I DO NOT HAVE ANY PIECES OF THE FLOOF COVERING LAYING AROUND cry

What I do have is the corners of a piece of vinyl flooring that they pieced and patched in for some unknown reason and the edges are coming up and it is looking pretty PATHETIC/PITIFULL/&$#%$&#  (SEE PICS BELOW)

Is there a super type glue that I could use just to get the edges DOWN and smooth on the floor???

I'm open to anything except "ARSON" - - biggrin

Mapei makes excellent products for that. It's what the pros use and it's available at the DIY stores. Clean the bare spot well using mineral spirits or something similar, cut your rogue piece so that it works, put a blob of the cement down and spread it with a square knotch knife, place your vinyl, force out any air bubbles with a clean trowel and put an even weight on your patch that covers all seams.

If you don't plan to be doing this again in the near future buy the smallest can of cement available. Also, a disposable plastic knife/spreader is just as good. To force out the air you can use anything at all and a stack of books will work to weight your patch.

I actually installed flooring for about 6 months when I was a young buck.
Good Luck!!

Is that the yellow looking glue that's impossible to get off the surface if you over do it? LOL Seems like I remember doing that years ago.

That is probably contact cement...solvent based stuff that used to be a favorite of the "huffers". This Mapei stuff is even enviro-friendly, you could eat it if ya wanted to!
