Need a high back lawnmower seat

I've been searching the net for a high backed seat to replace the one I have on my Murray Riding Lawn Mower.  None of the ones I have found are high enuff and they all slant backwards instead of forward to give you support in the middle of your back when you are sitting up straight and mowing.

I am doing the final yard mow for the season and it is obvious that, by next season, I am going to need more back support.

I realize that I may end up f-f-f-f-fabricating some other type of seat to adapt up  in order to get what I need accomplished.  Has anybody had that similar problem or have any ideas.  Maybe an after market boat seat or something would work but I sure don't want to spend a bundle on one.

I thought TSC has seats with an adjustable back rest....quite expensive though.

I hear that! doh John Deere has a really nice one...similar to the one Poncho has the pic of...for between $100 and $150.00. I was gonna switch mine but didn't. Next year I'll have it (and a bagger too) biggrin My neighbour put a bucket seat outta some ol' car he had on his. It looks kinda odd...but comfy. aww

I like that one from Tractor's Supply and there are a couple in our area.  Don't want the arm rests but the rest is ok.  I know that I need to probably see the seat in person and sit in it rather than order it so those stores will be my first stop.  Not much Marine stuff in this area but lotsa ATV's and that may be a source also.

thanks

I'll tell ya Geezer, there's been times that I was wishin' for a cab. I've gotten into wasp/hornet nests and the protection woulda been cool. sprint.gifHeh,heh. I wouldn't want the shade or AC though disbelief I sit there just suckin' up the sun. sun.gif It warms my bones. aww My neighbour has a cab for the winter on his. It's made outta the same material as a bikini top for a boat...they have a front-mounted snowblower that seems to work great. They also put wheel weights and chains on for the winter. It's a 16HP and runs that blower quite well.

Has anyone else noticed that most newer mowers are comin' with cupholders ? biggrin Next it'll be built in coolers like the cars are gettin'. beer.gif laughing.gif  I will admit, though, over the years I've seen and used quite a few homemade cupholders and coolers on lawn tractors so it was only a matter of time for the factories to catch up I guess. aww

It appears we have a newbie handshake.gif

This oldie reminds me - I need a new tractor seat as well. Too many layers of duct tape are making lumps on my fanny, that is except where it hasn't stuck to my pants and torn looseashamed

Oh, the possibilities!  The immagination runs amok.  Seriously, did you ever find something, Mello?
