Pop-ups and audio headers

Is anyone else getting the flashing pop-ups at the top of the Thread page and then the voice saying "Congratulations you've won?"

I haven't checked internet explorer, because I use mainly Fire Fox now. But, in Fire Fox, you can get a add-on that blocks all of that. I don't see anything at the top except the site logo. Even on my home site when I sign on, I don't have advertisements anymore. Just what I want to see there only. biggrinbiggrin

I dont get that here......I had complaints last year on the Shadetree forum about stuff like that.......but I never get it....I think they have different advertising in different areas.....Like right now, the top of my page says..."Whats the capital of Canada"...quiz type of ad.

LOL - - - here's what it looks like on my machine except it is flashing and then of course the Audio.
"CONGRATULATIONS YOU WON" shocked.gifeyepopping.gif
I know that my alter-ego would use duct-tape but I have a volume knob that I prefer - - winkbiggrin

If you already have Fire Fox installed, you go to tools, add ons, click it, and then a window opens up. Click ad ons, and a link appears. From there, you click browse all add ons on the right, there is a link. That takes you to the add on list of several things. Type in adblock plus. When a new page opens, you will then be on a secure site, that's why I can't post the link. There are different ones, but this one works really good. When ever a ad pops up, you right click it, and click block picture, or frame, any part of it or all of it. biggrinbiggrin

I wanted to add to this. This blocks any ads. On the top, or on the side. smile

Cool...thanks Denny...

To everyone....I have used Firefox for a few years now......much superior than IE, in my opinion.

I never touch IE unless I have to. Firefox is way mo better and way mo secure. IMHO

smile Thanks, I got this when I asked my ip how come I pay for my ip, and you stick a bunch of advertising on it ? They said they couldn't do anything about that....biggrinbiggrin Oh really ?? biggrinbiggrin I tried a few before I got this one. And it seems to really work the best out of 3-4 that I tried. thumbsup.gif Plus, you can always take them off, or put them back on.  biggrin

Bad Rat seems to be getting a virus warning from the top ads...Just thought I would bring this back to the top....Read Dennys instructions if you use Firefox....It works well for me.

It states its a trojan installer,, happened 4 times to day, I have it removed by the security , and as soon as I go back to handyman and the curser happens to go across the ad, it sends another warning,, furious
