Finding all kinds of goodies

For the last 2 days I have been going through all my junk , gathering up stuff I plan on taking to the swap meet this up coming W/E

I didn't realize I had so much stuff.. and alot of it is brand new parts,, have a brand new still in the box Dikota Digital gage cluster, with a matching clock and tach,, that I had DD special make to match the gage cluster,, I have over 800 $ in that mess, ( was intended for the 39 chev I was building but sold before I finished it)a brand new Billit specalities Polished Alum steering column , air cond compressers ,4 complete  Locar shifters, A/C condensers,  just a bunch of stuff I have bought and never used,, custom tail lights

Hopefully I can sell it and finish my Anglia.

Hope to unload that chassis that was origionally under the Anglia, would be a neat chassis for a pure nastalgia type , street rod a. 57 olds R/E dropped tube F/E etc etc.

You probably need to move at least every 10 years so that you know what you have accumulated and what needs to go.  My problem is that all my Junk is Junk biggrin

I would rather take a good ole fashioned AZZ whoopin that to have to deal with moving.. been in this place for close to 30 years now,  so other than just walking out and starting all over again,, only way that could happen is if I won the lottery and became young again,,,,,,,no SO there isn't any danger of that ever happening,, crycrying.gif

I quit doing the swap meet thing a few years back,,it was just too much of a hassle,, gather up stuff,  drag it out to the meet , set it all up for people to rummage through, offer you pennys for your stuff,,  then drag it back home,, and usually around here you get rained on for 4 days,, [I still go but just to look]  but my buddy always makes it a 4 day party out of it and thats the fun part,,,and ask me to do it with him this year,, [ got 3 huge stalls ]  so this is a good chance to get rid of alot of stuff that has accumalated over the years.. lots of new parts that were bought for different projects and then ideas change or the project gets sold ,,and parts get stashed away, hopefully I can get rid of most of it,,

I didn't realize how much junk I had till I started emptying out cabinets,,  needed a good shop cleaning anyway,, hope not much of it comes back,,

I'm not gonna do the spice thing,, they are pretty finicky about anything food related ,, so don't want the hassle of that,,, its held at Portland international raceway,, so they don't want any grease drippings on their track surface,, can't say as I blame em,, drag strip and motorcycles, and scca cars,, and wednesday night drag racing,,,,

I MIGHT be there this weekend Rattie.......got a couple race car buds headin up there to unload stuff as well.  They're workin on our '51 flatbed and it's coming along nicely. Wish I had some pics but they told me they are taking lots.  I just brought it in for a driveline issue and the next thing I know...........well........I'm a sucker for keeping old stuff on the road.  It will be a serious advertising vehicle. That sob had rust in places I didn't know existed. Welded in almost an entire floor section then line-x'ed it so any water from here on out will never affect it. Bucket seats replaced the bench and are adjustable. I guess I didn't want to do it half-ass so here goes a killer paint job and all new hardware and such. Found a fabricator in prineville that's making us a new frame and wood bed. Should be a sweet driver and I may leave my truck at the shop and take it home occasionally.

I'll try and get a few pics tomorrow to post. Lil wifey is getting a tooth implant this week so she might just want to lay around, good time to get the hell outa here and cruise the swap meet. Just sayin..........

I'll be at the track,, (PIR)  it goes on the same time as the one at the Expo center, just up the road, the 2 meets combined are susposably the largest on the west coast,

I.m not sure of our space numbers  ,, they are on the main straight away, right by the tower,, but will get the #  tomorrow and PM them to you, in case you get down there,, Theres more at PIR than the Expo,, the stalls go completely around the whole 2 miles of the track on both sides,, That there is a bunch of walking mister,,

Sounds like you have a neat project going,, are you still in ariz?

I had every thing priced reasonable,, where  I knew they would try to offer me less,, most cases WAY less,, but I feel I made out ok,,  and most got a smokin deal...

Thats a lot of damn work.. now I remember why I quit doing the swap thing,,

Well it was agood outcome for me this time,, I ended up selling everything I had, except for a few things that wern't worth anything,, so in the garbage or free ,, I ended up with 4100 bucks in my pocket,, I took a beating on a couple of items, like the dakota Digital gages, but made up for it on others,,

So I'm satisfied.. plenty of room to work wth now.. all I gotta do is get organized.. where to start.. the shop has turned into a wood shop,, sawdust covers everything

saws to be moved back to the storage shed.  and a weeks worth of cleaning,, and hopefully some time to work on the anglia,, got the urge now,, spring is popping out everywhere .. but still a bit chilly,,,

Well I have to pull the body back off,, its just sitting on the frame now,, and make a subframe in the body to build bodymounts off of,  and mount the inside sheetmetal on, then finish welding up the chassis,[its just mocked up now and tacked together now]

pull the motor out and have Chris [oldest son] finish building it, install the heads , rollers, etc, mount the front end and radiator,, the stuff that eats up the time,, hope to have it running at least by the end of summer,, [fingers crossed]

I have to find someone that knows how to setup a Winters Q/Change R/E.. they have pretty strict settings,, and I have never done one, but The guy that narrowed it for me does that.. $$$$$$$ of course

looking forward to it,,headbang.gif
