Looking good! I have some remodels coming sometime in my future, glad to have this forum in case I run big trouble.

obillwan - Can you tell me where you found your 8 foot sliding glass door? It looks nice!

I need to replace one that's about 40 years old and takes a couple of grown men to open...

Thanks.

Nice work, Bill, that place looks so peaceful and homey and everything is so lush and green. No doubt Y'all will be enjoying the fruits of your labor for a long time.

 Hi Trey...welcome to the forum.

I would ask at your local building center or at a window installation company. Thats what I did and the 8footers were available from both. Mine is the NorthStar brand, but I am pretty sure they are a Canadian company. I am sure there is something similar in your area

Welcome Trey - we got both the door and the bay window from "Alside" www.alside.com/products/windows-patio-doors/sliding-patio-doors/ ... we really like both and it is truly a very well insulated door - we are in the DC area and , even with all of the cold weather we had this winter, we did not feel like we needed a curtain across the window at all. Also, it has a good locking system. I see you are from SC ... looks like they have distributors there www.alside.com/professionals/tools-resources/distributor-locations/

Be sure to post some before, during and after pictures of your project if you can. Thanks!

We initially learned about Alside from about 5 different contractors who came to give us estimates ... everyone one of them offered the Alside sliding door (not the windows though) and they all seemed to say that this is the best vinyl sliding glass door, for the best price, on the market today.

Around here lately, the radio commercials are pushing fiberglass doors and windows, saying the is less warpage in the cold and hot weather....Might be something to look into too
