Malware????

Poncho, when I try to open the thread "Going Broke With Dead Appliances" in the Climate Control section, my browser blocks it with a message that there is malware attached to it.  Might need a looking at, do ya' think?

I had some complaints like this on my other forum....Seems that it just affected members using AVAST virus program...Are you?
Tech support for the forum host contacted AVAST and the changed something.....This was 2 or 3 days ago..let me know if you keep getting this

I ran AVAST up until ~6 months or so ago but it caused some major problems with my Earthlink installation. I spent hours on the Earthlink chatline as well as the phone (those folks aren't the brightest bulbs in the box) to straighten things mostly out. It has been thoroughly 'scrubbed' from all three 'puters. It was a great antivirus (free!!) but somewhere they lost their direction and I'm now using another freebie, AVG

LOL, about that time, under the advice of my computer guru, I switched from AVG to Avast. He was removing viruses at the time.

Every once in a while it'll block a page that I'd think was safe, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Even when it blocks a page, isn't there a way to override? There usually is, but, better safe than sorry, I've never overridden.

Your mileage may differ. Maybe I should put that in my signature.... What works here, won't necessarily work there.

I am using Google Chrome, and that is what is blocking the post. It is only that one thread, everything else seems to be ok. I even logged off, and logged back on, and it is still there. I'll check my setting on GC and see if I can figure something out.

I'm running AVG without any problems so far. My ^&@^&@# Firefox can be a PITA on occasions however.

I was using Firefox for years, started having problems this year, went to Google Chrome.....The problems, which I dont remember what they were at the moment, stopped. Chrome is a much simpler program it seems, but it does lock up now and then. I hate computers..............

Here - still running Firefox currently, release 31.0, and absolutely no problems along with AVG now on 2 of 3 'puters. I reloaded AVAST on the DW's and it is running fine.
