Hey Mego, free is always good but I've decided not to do any raised beds this year and just go with a few container plants from seedlings. Maybe next year I'll get some get up and go or motivation but for now, I'm pretty dull and boring and non-productive.

Thanks for the headsup anyhow

Many genetically modified seeds are sterile, odds are most backyard gardening seeds are not Genetically modified.

What we need is these seeds banned entirely, like they already are in much of Europe and parts of Asia. Apparently those countries governments aren't as easily bought by large corporations as America's already is.

Here is one heck of a long list of companies certifying GMO free.

www.councilforresponsiblegenetics.org/ViewPage.aspx

It is not all inclusive though, I used to buy a lot of seeds from Vermont Bean Seed Company who sell organic seeds, or at least they used to. They aren't on the list, but when I went to their website, in the fine print, they say, "Genetically Modified Seeds: To our knowledge, none of our products have been developed through the mechanical transfer of genetic material between genera, families or kingdoms."

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the word "organic" like I used to.........

I always ordered from Wilhite Seed Co. back when I had a large garden. Their "Bodaceous" sweet corn is to die for.
