Hope this woiks !

I have a cat that likes to stretch his claws on the door facing of the back door before coming in every morning for breakfast and it was beginning to look real bad.  So I took the board down and turned it over, installed it and repainted it.  We were considering putting some metal corner bead on it but I didn't like the idea at all because it would look like painted metal corner bead.  So after thinking and thinking (I know, left myself wide open there) I decided to try some Epoxy over the paint and then I'll paint over it tomorrow.  I used the kind that looks like a double syringe and puts equal amounts out when you compress it.  Used a whole unit on the 2' area of each side and now I have my fangers crossed.

Have a great weekend, Y'all,

meller

Cool idea! If it works, maybe we'll do the posts on the deck. Cats are doing a number on them.

same thing here,, they do that to sharpen their claws, and streach at the same time,, our cat ( grankids cat) has scratched all the paint off the trim at the front door, and it doesn't matter how many times I repaint it the guy still claws it off,,  I replaced the tri at least 3 times, so now I'm gonna have to come up with something that he can't distroy,, or better yet take the guy for a ride,, but the grankids wouldn't like that too much,

maybe something that would shock the **** outta him,,biggrinbiggrinconfuse

They make a spray on deterant but the last deterant I used in my flower beds only showed them WHERE to GO ! This Epoxy might solve "my" problem but I'm not bragging just yet. Right now the puss is under me between my feet so I know he ain't clawing. hahahaha

OK Update Time: I have seen the Cat try to scratch the door facing but with no success. I'm thinking that it's because I turned the ruff side towards the wall and then provided damage protection with the Epoxy. Even when she claws, it does not make a mark so that area is probably safe now. I did, however, notice that the other cat is clawing the back corners of the couch in the mornings as he gets ready to go back outside. Grrrrrrr.

Cats are gonna claw. While ours are all outside cats, one or two of them come in for a short visit on occasion. One did just now in fact. Proceeded to claw the carpet.... hmm
