Ducts....quack quack..

Anyone ever install there own ducts? Need ducts, furnace and air. Can only buy the ducts. Need a licence for the furnace.

I am no expert John, at anything for that matter...But, it seems to me that you can likely buy the round ductwork pretty easily, but the square stuff is usually bent from flat stock on site to get the fit right. Those guys have those brake tables to do that

Got the round and found a shop that sells square ducts to the trades. Have all the cleats I need. Just a learning curve for the duct work. Biggest issue is the furnace and air. Hard to run ducts if I don't have a furnace to run it to. Broke down today and call a heating guy to give me a price on the furnace and air. My butt is starting to hurt already and I haven't even met with the guy yet.....

I paid about $2500 about 3 years ago for a high efficiency furnace joined to my exsisting ductwork. Air will likely be a couple of grand, so dont be surprised if its over 5 Gs

Last furnace I got was around 3 grand, I think, several thousand anyway, but adding air was only $800 more. Hadn't planned on AC, but at that price, heck yeah! Course, I no longer live in that house...... LOL
