Master Bath Vanity

Well, my contractor friend and his helper started on the Master Bath Vanity this evening and like most remodels we were forced to change our plans just a little.  He had originally planned on removing the front of the existing vanity and the nailing it back on once he got the new construction done.  The old vanity top was in pretty bad shape and was only 30" from the floor to the counter top.  It should be around 34  1/2" when he is finished.  I guess that when they leveled this house several years ago they also bowed the vanity and left a 1/2" gap on each end of the cabinet between the bottom of the counter top and the cabinet.

We decided to install two small vanities and put them in side by side and then a stip down the front that makes them look like one cabinet.  That is what the PO had done before.  Hopefully these will have shelves and not drawers because that will fit our needs much better.  Here are a few pics of the first stage of work and also the new granite top and sink that will be installed.

OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW !

More pics later when finished.

8PM Update:
He just left (8pm) but "WE" got the cabinet in and it wasn't the easiest thing to do. He had to trim off about a 1/4" of excess that was in the way on the sides of the face and will have to do something different on the door trim SEE PIC because the new one is 2" deeper than the old one was. It will look good when he's finished. There is a matching mirror that will replace the medicine cabinet that is there now and we'll have to keep stuff in the cabinets then.

DONE, except for some minor paint touch up.  It is now 36" from the floor to the counter top and I hope that doesn't present a problem for the Wiffy.  Hard to get decent pics of a small room with a large mirror in it but here tis.

Have a great weekend, Y'all,

Em

Looks like you went from a counter top replacement to a full fledged major re-do.

Looks great!!

(Photobucket has a image fixer upper if you dig down for it. I just use a 7-8 year old version of Adobe Elements 5.0 {13.0 is current!!} to try to fix my picture taking screw ups)

I finally found those 2 round 2its that I've been looking for since we installed the vanity and top. Didn't want or need to buy new stuff so I just did some accent painting added a couple of pulls on the Medicine Cabinet and little table that sits over and by the "new" Isn't that fancy but it took some of the fugly off of them.

And, another winner. Go have a chicken dinner. It's funny what a little paint and creativity can do, ain't it?

Looks like a winning combo to me.

I am very glad that your throne time is spent multi-tasking.

Obviously he uses his time on the throne coming up with ideas on how to save money and his valuable time, and it always turns out BEAU TI FULL ,,  good job  Amigo,,

I have been informed ( MANY TIMES) recently that I have a bathroom remodel to do,, plus several more I'm sure,,  nothing more dangerous  than a woman thinking,
