One shop improvement I hadn't shown before....

Shortly after I got back, I had a lightbulb come on that said I needed better lights in my woodshop. Rather than buy 4' lights, and separate directional task lights, I bought a couple of those little halogen 300 watt lights, mounted them on 9" Lazy Susan's, and mounted them to the ceiling in the shop. Plenty of light, and I can aim the light in any direction I want. Only downside is they illuminate all those little mess areas of the shop that I don't want to deal with yet...

Now why would someone who's complaining about heat, and wanting cold, put up lights that get very hot while throwing off substantial amounts of heat?

I have some of those, they do throw a lot of light, but I'm thinking LED when I can afford some.

I'd like LED, but yeah, cost prohibitive at this time. The heat from them really isn't that bad this time of year. My shop is in the basement, and it has yet to get warmer than 55 in the winter, or 70 in the summer.

Last time I looked at the temp in the shop, it was 15 inside, and that was on a "warm" day. Guess those lights don't throw off so much heat after all, huh? smile

I really wish I could afford LED. In the house, in the shop. Fluorescents just don't come on. That's kind of where the line is drawn, if the lights don't work, neither do I. It's been about 3 months now of not doing anything. Now if it was 100 out there............. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
