Up until a year ago there was a company that would come by twice a year, fall and late spring, and do a routine maintenance check on our Heating and AC. Well last year they were supposed to do the same thing and since then, they have stood me up 4 different times. I don't know if it's the lady that I talk to that's dropping the ball or the service dude but I'm thinking about not getting it done at all. I.E. "don't fix it if it ain't broken"
I can sure call another service Company so what's Y'alls thoughts on this???
TIA,
Em

And you get a Bill for it RIGHT ???? Waiting on them to tell you its OK ,,, depends on you.. I sure as hell wouldn't wait around for them,, 4 times should be sufficient reason to S**T can them, about all it takes to check out the HVAC is? does it come on? does it heat , Cool? blow dirt ? smoke, smell bad ETC,, ?? , We have gas fired hot water heat,, ( Radiant I think its called) we replaced the boiler a few years back,, and think we have had the heat on 1 time since,, usually the fireplace ( have 2 of em) keeps the house pretty comfy, don't really get that cold here,, and coats or a sweater works just fine,,

thanks, amigo, a little while back he told me that only one of the heat strips was working and that he was gonna check on what they cost to replace - - I never heard back on that one and our heating bill is tolerable so I didn't worry about it any more - - - - ours is a Lennox and there's a dealer locally so I may call them for a one time trip out to check the heat strips but then I may not LOL

I got a new furnace 4 years ago.....I change the filter every 3 months, have a look at the burner every fall....nice blue flame, so I figure its burning clean. The AC, I make sure the outside condenser is free of leaves and crap.....If it stops cooling, it probably has a leak, so I will get it replaced....I think the AC unit is at least 20 years old
If they have blown you off four times, they must think they have you by the short hairs, or they just don't want your business anymore. Either way, were I you, I'd be looking for another service provider. Basic maintenance on a heat and cool system is to get the main unit cleaned and operation checked twice a year, once in spring for the cooling season, and once in the fall for the heating, get the duct work cleaned in the spring. But like Rat said: does it work ok? You can let it go for a year or two if you feel like it.

If either has a filter, change it out. Other then that if the heat and a/c still work OK when you flip the switch, little problem. If you have oil heat, then maybe a new nozzle and possibly a new oil filter.
Way back mid last century, we had oil hot air heat and the squirrel cage blower had so much crud build up it barely moved air - and the 'service agreement' was supposed to cover cleaning. OOPS!! After a minor battle, they did the clean up. I then switched to gas and did my own maintenance the next few years until we moved.

Wind mill? Solar panels?
After seeing many miles of those Greenie wind farms near Amarillo 3-4 weeks ago, can only guess .........

We got plenty of those things to hug,,, the neighbor has Laurel's that are right on the property line, and have gotten up well over 30 Ft tall,, and 99% of the friggin leaves fall into my back driveway. (well front driveway also) so we have to dispose of the mess,, we spent all day today just cleaning up the back driveway,, ( 2 huge garbage dunpsters full) ( we can't burn any debris of any kind here) and the damn leaves have already covered the driveway again,, endless battle,,,, I bought a new chain saw with a 10 Ft extension handle, and I'm gonna cut the tops off those trees and throw the limbs and crap over into her yard,,, she is just a renter ,, and spends most of her time in bed with a customer ,, ( honestly I really think she is a hooker,, about 65 years old .( at least) and theres a steady stream of old guys in and out of her house every 1/2 hr or so,,,,, shes ugly as a mud fence,, but stays busy,,, I never smell and cookies baking from there so what else could attract a old fart ',
Hey....at least she is working and not sucking on the public teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet...
Don't know if any of those old farts that run in and out of her house work for the public or not,, I do know that she is definitely" get it in the dark" ugly
I first had a comment about her "Cookies" but changed my mind.
Amigo, if she's that old and that's her only source of income, it's certainly better than just "Resting on her Laurels"
That's for sure,, she rests on her BACK,,, well maybe on her belly,, really don't care,, just something to talk about,, and it sure pisses my boss off when I say something about all the old farts that run ,, in and out , but for the laurels thing<< she could have some of those " CUSTOMERS" trimming those LAURELS and taking care of her at the same time,,,,,,,,

You tryin to change the subject amigo? I know theres more Impotent things to talk about than a neighbor that screws around all day?? or is there? Its getting a little cooler around here, the last few days,, no rain for the last few days,, but that won't last long,, at least it isn't snow.. I HOPE
