Lithium vs Ni-Cad Question

I have purchased and given away a lot of DeWalt tools, batteries and chargers but after all was said and done I still needed to get a charger to my youngest step-son and I wanted to get one more battery for me.  I am finding lots of stuff on amazon and ebay and the Ni-Cad equipment is much cheaper.

My question is will a Ni-Cad charger work for a Lithium battery and visa versa???

Also will a Ni-Cad operate the tools that normally use Lithium Ion???

TIA

I think the chargers that I have for Lithium batteries will not charge Ni-Cad and I would not want to even try to.

Aside from cost, why wouldn't you just upgrade to Lithium batteries? last longer with a charge and life wise.
I have several BOSCH products and some Milwaukee drill/drivers and don't even think of picking up any Ni-Cad stuff these days, even if the price is right.

Joe, this was my original post that should catch you up on what I actually did.

Seems we were on the same track because I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought the Lithium Charger that my tools and batteries call for.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.
