Thanks Meller, I know all the fella's here have had health issues, some deadly serious but man. This one almost did me in - and they have no clue what brought it on. Weird eh? Anyway, I'm starting to feel better, getting more energy, I push myself every day to test my limits and it seems like each day is better. Gotta keep a positive attitude. Enough of that.

Here's a pic of our 3 scooters - literally in one case. I'm hoping to get one of them in the shop over winter to clean it up. I'd really like to start riding again but Insurance is brutal( $$$$$) and set to get even more so,  so we'll see.

The one up front is a 1949 A.J.S. / Matchless.  A buddy and I traded this bike back and forth a number of times over they years. When one of us started a new project the other would buy the bike back for a buck. Last time it switched he said keep it. It currently has a '51 500 cc single in the cradle and pulls like a stumper. LOT's of bottom end grunt, you just hope it doesn't kick back when starting or it'll launch you over the fence into your neighbors yard. I also have the original '49 350cc motor that came in it originally. Been toying with the idea of mounting it in a '60's John Deere lawn tractor frame, straight drive through a cone clutch, chrome stack through the hood.....I digress, a project for another day, back to the bikes.

The Honda is a 1964 C-90. Had it about 50 years, still starts first or second kick. Probably has a million miles on it - 98% of them in orchards and vineyards all over this part of Ontario. I'll put Avon's back on it and keep it streetable. Everything still works believe it or not.

The Vespa is a '62. Bought it from a workmate. He bought it new, rode it a couple summers then parked it due to all the ribbing he was taking. Over the years it sat in the back of his Dad's garage and one year his father painted blue latex over the original white. When I looked at it the first time it hadn't moved in twenty years. We cleared a path, dragged it out and before I could stop him he poured what smelled like varnish from an ancient 2-1/2 gallon OMC outboard tank into the bike. Started 3rd kick. I almost ****. Took it home, putted about. My wife fell off it and broke her finger so she hates it, lol. I'm just going to feather through the blue to the white in places where wear would normally take place then clear it and have fun.

Anyway have a great day guys. Randy

Way cool scooter, Randy, I haven't seen an AJS since 1960 when I borrowed one from my friend because the wife and I had wrecked our car. I only used it to go back and forth to see the wife who was in traction for 19 weeks with a brokern femur - - - some ruff times but we made it.

Now, that is - uh, different? How is it fastened? And, how are you going to keep that stirrup out of the chain? Inquiring minds, and all that sh**, yanno. Love that chain, love the sound they make, but hate what happens when they break. I got lucky when I broke one on my Trumpet back in the sixties, it just snaked out on the street behind me and didn't catch or tangle or break anything.
