The Son wants me to help him install a horn on the 65 Stang so I picked up the parts and then I couldn't find that link to my horn installation. You had told me or sent a drawing of how to hook up the relay and I can't find it - - - Sooooooo look at this attached pic and tell me if I"m even close???????? "OH" it's a Dorman 4 terminal relay.
Ok, lets see if I can do this without burning something up.
Connect the wire from the horn button or ring on the steering wheel to terminal 86. Connect the wire from the horn itself to terminal 87. Connect a wire from a ground point to terminal 85. Connect a wire with a fuse installed in it from the positive of the battery or the solenoid BAT post to terminal 30.
Be sure the fuse is adequate for the load of the horn, and that the relay is also adequate; horn draws 20 amps, fuse for 20, and relay should be a 20 or 30 amp relay.

Thanks, that's pretty much the way I had it figgered from just looking at the Fairlane that you helped me on. Sho don't hurt to double check tho, eh?
The relay is 30amp so I'll pick up a 20 amp inline fuse and we should be OK for a Sattie installation.

Got the horn installed today with absolutely no problems. Also managed to use the old horn location hole and bolts so no drilling at all. Put the button on the column right behind the steering wheel and it's held in place with the lip of the hub and a tie strap. Now, if he can get it inspected he'll be ready to turn it into a DD. It sure looks nice and sounds great since they did a resto on it. Maybe I can get some after pics later to post. There was a vacant wire by the solenoid that appeared to come from a post on the solenoid but I'll need a pic to ask the question so maybe I can get him to email me one later.
thanks again Em(I)
