Did a 'puter cleanup - and ....

I did a 'puter junk and registry clean out yesterday on the desk top XP clunker as well as the laptop a couple weeks ago. Afterwards the password was no longer functional. I use the same one for any of the forums I visit (KISS and CRS!!) so that should not have been a big deal. But it wouldn't work. Inner'stingconfuse. I guess it's fixed as I'm 'on'

I used to use the same password for all my forums. Then some of the bigger ones wanted a password change due to hacking etc....They wanted a password with a capital letter, numbers and some with a symbol thrown in......Thats all well and good, but who really cares about security on a damn forum?....Its not its like my bank or something. Thinking more about it though, I have removed any personal stuff from my profiles....age, location etc.
Never know.

Oh how I agree with that and do much of the same. I'll say I live in Upstate NY - but that covers anything above NY City. My OF age is no one's business though I do give the month and day and if insisted on, give something that sounds right - like 1999.

And that vBulletin screw up/hack last year. That has actually forced me from a couple forums that I seldom visited. I don't have record of the password and since my participation was minimal or less, left that site. Heck, even my bank, credit union, investors service and pension holder have less sign in security then some of the social forums though the financial institutions do need to recognize the 'puter I'm using. All of which surprised me when my long time password here wasn't accepted after a hard drive cleaning job. It was and is the same, just resetevileye

I don't remember passwords, I guess that's why I can't get on some sites I used to go to.
