Trees Gotta Go

I had 2 large Oak Trees that were about 5 feet from the house and they were starting to lean the wrong direction and the root system was slowly creeping under the house on one of them.  I decided to get my Contractor buddy to get them down, stumps ground and everything hauled off.  He looked at it and gave me a bid of $1200.  I tried not to look too anxious but told him to go ahead and "git'er done".

They rolled in here about 4:30pm yesterday evening and worked until 9:00pm.  Got here this morning around 9am and it's 5pm and they are just leaving.

Do Y'all think that my conscience should be bothering me???  Well, it Ain't

P.S. my driveway ain't never looked this good. biggrin

Zounds like a bargain to me. Cost me $650 to have two big Foothill Pine trees dropped and pieced up into pieces I could handle with my truck and chains;one was 90 feet, and 36 inches in diameter, the other only slightly smaller, but they left the stumps. That was in '96. It would have cost me $2000 for them to haul, and cut out the stumps.

Rrumbler - Broken and grouchy, but not dead - yet. Bangin' and twistin' on stuff for some sixty years or so.
